What are your summer plans? Beat the heat during July and August at N-YHS! This weekend, we’re kicking off special summer programs and offering admissions discounts for museum-goers of all ages.
Every weekend through Labor Day, kids 18 and under are free! Union members also enjoy a special two-for-one admissions on Saturdays and Sundays*. So bring the whole family to Living History Days. Now through August, American Revolutionary soldiers will be stationed at the Museum—ready to answer your questions about life on and off the battlefield, and to show off their fascinating weapons and supplies.
Try your hand at sketching like legendary cartoonist, Al Hirschfeld. Every Sunday at 12:30 pm and Wednesday at 3:30 pm, join us for an educator-led sketching program in our gallery featuring the critically acclaimed retrospective, The Hirschfeld Century. For older kids and adults, we’re also offering weekly gallery tours of Art as Activism and Freedom Journey 1965, led by curator-trained docents. The Saturday tours explore the diverse and sometimes opposing goals and organizations within the Civil Rights Movement, including the nonviolent actions of Martin Luther King, Jr. to the radical politics of the Black Panther Party. All family programs are free with Museum admission, so don’t miss out!
During the week, we celebrate seniors and educators. Tuesdays are Two-For-One Senior Days—bring a guest of any age! Wednesdays we offer two-for-one admissions to educators with valid ID. All discounted admissions offers also entitle you to 10 percent off all purchases at our Museum Store.
